Tenita
Johnson has over 12 years of writing and editing experience. Her writing career began with the Detroit News & Free Press high school journalism program she participated in while at Communication &
Media Arts High School
in Detroit, MI. While participating
in the program, she also served as editor of her high school newsletter and wrote numerous short stories and poetry. She graduated
magna cum laude of her high school graduating class and was also listed in the 1996-1997 edition of Who’s Who Among
American High School Students.
Tenita
attended the University of Missouri-Columbia,
best known for its profound journalism school, and studied print journalism. While in college, she not only worked for the
city of Columbia’s newspaper, The Columbia Missourian, but also the on-campus newspaper The Maneater
and Vox Magazine. It was during her time at the Missourian that she not only served as a reporter for the education and religion beats, but she also served as
a daily copy editor in the newsroom. In 2001, she graduated with a Bachelor of Journalism with an emphasis in News/Editorial.
After graduation, she moved back to Detroit, MI
and completed an internship at The Michigan Chronicle as a copy editor. She has
also been employed as a proofreader at various companies such as the AT&T Yellow Pages, Gale/Cengage Learning and Doner
Advertising. In 2007, Tenita completed her Master of Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing.
She is most known for putting others’ thoughts onto paper in a very creative, intelligent
way. Tenita is also known for her keen eye for grammatical, spelling and punctuation errors. She is a member of Greater Grace
Temple (City of David) in Detroit,
MI and resides with her husband and two boys in Redford,
